In this system, the hubs are placed at the central point of a network, like the center of a city or the hub of a plant. This arrangement allows for easy centralization of resources, thereby reducing the cost of setting up the system. But, this type of arrangement may not be able to offer the level of connectivity as that offered by the previously mentioned two options. Star topology was found to be very useful in certain applications like voice and data cabling; however, it has its disadvantages too.
