Verizon fios change ip address

Verizon FiOS now supports changing the IP address on the fly. You no longer have to be tied down by a contract that requires you to remain with your current ISP for the life of your connection. In fact, Verizon is now open to all subscribers regardless of whether or not they have signed up for FiOS. If you move out of the Verizon service area you can still take advantage of the new features and benefits of Verizon FiOS. All you need is an internet connection and the name servers valid for a change of address.

So what does this mean? Simply put, Verizon FiOS can support connecting you to multiple broadband internet providers, including your existing ISP. If you have a broadband internet connection from a different company than the one providing Verizon FiOS then you can use their address blocks to connect to these other providers. As long as you have a Verizon router and modem attached to your Verizon internet service, then you are connected to these providers. But, what if you move out of the Verizon service area? Then all that is changed – and your IP address is changed along with it.

Verizon FiOS will still allow you to connect to these other providers but, since you have a different IP address, you will show as a different customer on the Verizon internet network. When you enter the address you entered during sign up (and if you have had an active Verizon FiOS connection without issues, this may not even require entering an IP address) you will be shown on the web browser’s address bar, or in other words, you will show as an individual with a street address rather than a business address. This is a great feature and one that were actually implemented some time ago. Verizon was then able to successfully market this as a feature to their customers, but it was not until recently when Verizon realized that this address server feature might actually be useful.

The Verizon FiOS Change IP Address feature allows customers that have moved from one location to another to actually take advantage of this feature. How does it work? Well, whenever you go onto the Verizon FiOS website and then click on “dhc” you will be directed to a page where you can input your current IP address. Now if you move out of the Verizon FiOS service area (i.e. move to IL and then back to NJ) your IP address will change to that of the new billing address in that region.

Verizon FiOS users that reside outside of the Verizon FiOS service area should also realize that they have the ability to change their IP addresses at any time they like. So, you can change your IP address any time you like, not only when you move out of the Verizon FiOS service area but, just as importantly, any time you want to change your name. You see, Verizon FiOS address servers will actually redirect you to the website for the service provider you want to use instead of the one you wanted to use. In other words, Verizon FiOS now offers users the ability to pick their own phone and internet providers. No more waiting around, picking through menus, choosing only the best deal and then making all of those changes to your computer.

One thing you will notice about Verizon FiOS is that the actual address servers are different in each of the fifty states that Verizon FiOS serves. In other words, some areas will have Verizon FiOS service, while others will have CDN IP addresses. In some cases the addresses will match. Other times they will not. However, when you do change your IP address you will be notified accordingly via email, text message, or even regular mail.

The reason Verizon FiOS allows you to change your IP address any time you want is to give you more freedom. If you have an old address and want to get more service, you simply pick a new one and you are good to go. If you want to switch back, that is an easy as loading up the web browser, logging into your Verizon FiOS account, selecting the settings you want, and selecting “change IP.” No one will even know a difference! Changing the address by hand is next to impossible.

With so many consumers worried about security, fraud, and other issues with Verizon FiOS, the ability for customers to change their IP addresses whenever they want has become extremely important. As more people rely on the internet for both work and pleasure, being able to switch internet providers and keep your identity anonymous is a big deal. Simply put, you don’t want a hacker to know where you’re at all times. You want to be able to go online, shop, bank, and do just about anything else without worrying about who is watching you.
